Web and Social Media

The ODYSSEY's convergence model bridges the gap between print, web, social media, and broadcast extends into innovative usage of multimedia, enabling me to tell community stories more fully by giving consumers a more creative way to consume our content.

Linnentown community mosaic discussion

October 2021

To keep up my coverage of The Linnentown Project, I took pictures at this community discussion to come up with plans for a memorial mosaic for the gentrified community of Linnentown in Athens. With lots of different events going on, I worked to tell a cohesive story throughout a visual essay that reflected the mission of the event and the support from the community.

A Passion for Rap

November 2019

This promotional post for my creative profile on student rapper Jay Kelly titled “Quiet young boss” encapsulates Kelly’s motivation for pursuing music and his passion for the process. His passionate quote draws readers in and leads them to read the full story. He is active on social media, so the post reached many of his followers and spread the story further to reach new readers who would connect to the story.

A world of paper

March 2020

For this personal blog about my love for collaging, I incorporated a time-lapse video and an engaging “juxtapose” to convey the full visual atmosphere of this story. All together, these elements convey the process of making a collage, the final product and the range of styles I enjoy creating, which allows my audience to better understand and relate to my story.

"A world of paper" on Stellar

March 2020

For this promotional social media Stellar story that accompanies “A world of paper”, I incorporated my art and collage style into a cohesive design. This unique storytelling method diverges from much of our feed, providing a creative way for readers to engage with the full story within social media.

Black History Month Instagram post

February 2021

As a part of the Black History Month coverage team, I interviewed an important Black figure in Athens about the influence she has had on children through her work in community centers. At the time during the pandemic, it was difficult for Ms. Christine Weaver to stay involved in her community. By sharing her story on our student-focused Instagram, I brought Weaver’s voice to the students of CCHS in an accessible way to recognize Black excellence.

"WILD" art exhibition photo gallery

November 2019

This photo gallery shows the artwork and attendees of the Lyndon House Arts Center CCSD Student Art Exhibition. I took a variety of photos -- close-ups of student art, candid photos of community members and wide shots of the event as a whole. It was valuable to document and share this exhibition because the display was brief and since the artwork spans grade levels, it has a wide community appeal.

A passion for playing

February 2019

I included a video and sound bite in this personal blog about my love for the flute to give readers an idea of my instrument and have a visual representation of my passion that extends beyond a photo. Together, these elements, along with the text, tell the story in a way that fully engages the audience’s senses.
